It will be left untreated and allowed to weather naturally. Over time it will gain a silvery colour. The alternative is to treat in with paint or stain or something similar which will require constant and periodic re-treatment. The Dunsley Highlander 5 Stove used with a Selkirk twin wall stainless steel flue and will burn peat obtained locally on the Isle of Lewis The Highlander-5 was developed to be nearly 80% efficient and can work with solid fuel, wood and peat. I will use it as a back up heat source using peat obtained from local sources. It will be placed on a 1in thick sheet metal base and use a Selkirk twin wall stainless steel flue.
